Hidden in the heart of the Old Town, among ancient walls and streets that whisper tales of times long past, lies a place that is a true reflection of centuries-long tradition. This is not just a restaurant, but a living story passed down from generation to generation.
Known as the first restaurant in the Old Town, it has changed interior and owners since 1931. In the 1980s, it became a family business spanning three generations of the Proročić family.
Since 1996, it has been successfully operating as Konoba Scala Santa. Here, the walls – now centuries old – still echo with the stories of old sailors and fishermen, while the menu speaks of the sea. Fish and seafood, fresh and carefully prepared, are the soul of every dish. You will find flavours almost as old as Kotor itself, from grilled fish to mussels in buzara sauce. Every plate is a tribute to the riches of the Adriatic Sea, crafted with love and respect for the ingredients that define our heritage.
At the heart of our Konoba, our Kotor continues to live on – a place where the past meets the present, and where locals and guests from all over the world come together to share the pleasures of good food, good company and music.
Whether you are a familiar face or visiting us for the first time, we invite you to take a seat at our table and taste the history and spirit of tradition – where every dish is a celebration of the sea, the people and the stories that connect us all.
“Where flavours dance and glasses chime, Scala Santa stands through time!”
